We’ll warn you, this is a small pebble beach that can only be reached by foot or by boat – don’t expect an epic stretch of sand here. But, what you can expect is a stunning secluded cove perfect for a serene day by the sea.
Canneto Beach
We’ll let you in on a little something: when it comes to secluded beaches in Cinque Terre, Canneto Beach is one of the region’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in the charming village of Canneto, this beautiful beach boasts crystal clear waters and soft white sand, and is the perfect spot for a peaceful day by the sea.
It’s not the easiest to get to – the beach is accessible by foot or boat from the nearby villages of Riomaggiore or Manarola – but that’s part of its charm. We promise that, if you make the effort to find this gorgeous stretch of coast, you will be rewarded with total tranquillity.
Pozzale Beach
Nestled near the charming village of Vernazza, Pozzale Beach is a true paradise. But, fair warning: it can only be accessed by foot or by boat.
This is another of the most beautiful secluded beaches in Cinque Terre. This spot is ideal for those seeking a quiet escape from the crowds.
But Pozzale Beach isn’t just about sunbathing and swimming. Visitors can also explore the nearby hiking trails that lead to hidden coves and scenic viewpoints.

Each of which offers unique perspectives of the rugged coastline and the Mediterranean Sea. One of the most popular trails (and our favourite) leads to a secluded cove, Grotta dei Colombi di Isola Palmaria, where you can admire the scenic ocean views from above.

Spiaggia della Marinella di San Terenzo
Now for one of the most beautiful hidden beaches in Cinque Terre, Spiaggia della Marinella di San Terenzo is located near the town of San Terenzo. It might be a short drive away from Cinque Terre, but we promise it’s worth it.
With its soft white sand and crystal clear waters, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The beach is accessible by foot or by car, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby if you’re wanting to grab a bite to eat.
And, once you’ve had your fill of beach-bumming (if that’s even possible), take a short stroll along the coastline towards Castello di San Terenzo to admire the crumbling fortress in all its glory.
Cala dell’Inferno
We’re heading back to the picturesque village of Vernazza for the next of the best Cinque Terre beaches. Cala dell’Inferno is a small cove that promises to transport you to a tranquil oasis with its crystal-clear waters and dramatic rock formations.
The cove’s secluded location makes it a little harder to find, but it’s worth the hunt. We’ll give you a clue – it’s just north from the equally delightful cove of Spiaggia dei Mangani.
For those who enjoy snorkelling, Cala dell’Inferno is a fantastic spot to explore the marine life that thrives nearby. If you’re a strong swimmer, you can even venture further out to discover hidden caves and grottoes on a sea kayak. Though, you’ll need to bring your own – there’s nowhere to hire one nearby.
Punta Mesco
No hidden Cinque Terre beach guide is complete without the addition of Punta Mesco. A bold claim, we know. But, located near Monterosso al Mare, Punta Mesco is a rocky area known for picturesque views and hiking trails that lead to hidden coves.
With its rugged terrain and dramatic landscapes, this beach is perfect for adventurous travellers looking to explore the natural beauty of Cinque Terre. Make sure you hike through the leafy Podere Case Lovara Nature Reserve (it’s currently closed, but keep your eyes peeled for reopening news).

Ready for an adventure? It’s quite a trek to get yourself to Spiaggia di Porto Pidocchio, but the descent down a steep set of stone stairs is worth the reward. Near Corniglia, this is an extremely small and secluded beach that is only accessible by foot or by boat.

Despite towering cliffs surrounding the beach, you’ll likely need to elbow your way through the crowds in the summer months. It might be tucked away but it’s an extremely popular cove (especially with locals).
