What Is the Dubai Miracle Garden?

Enter through the fairytale gates marking the entrance of this botanical beauty and a kaleidoscope of colour awaits. Ensconced inside a huge walled garden, mesmerising floral displays span everything from a bedecked Emirates plane to a lush recreation of The Kelpies, and there’s a huge number of Smurfs dotted around.
Ascend the steps in the centre of the garden and you’ll find yourself blessed with the perfect vantage point of Dubai Miracle Garden. And, let’s be real, with a backdrop of colourful blooms, your Insta-game is going to be unbeatable.
A Brief History of Dubai Flower Garden

When Dubai Miracle Garden first opened on 14th February 2013 – Valentine’s Day, no less – to hordes of romantics, it proved a huge success. Phase one took workers two months to plant all the different blooms that make up this garden, whereas phase two involved a rather hefty 70% expansion the following October – and this was also when the floral clock, shops, and abundance of mosques were added.
For anyone wondering about the watering system, have no fear. The plants are watered each night after the park closes – the gardeners use wastewater through drip irrigation to ensure the blooms are nourished. In fact, the Dubai municipality sends this treated wastewater directly to the garden, so we have them to thank for the perky plants.
Dubai Miracle Garden Tickets

Tickets to the Miracle Garden will set you back 100 AED (around £21). Snapping these up couldn’t be easier through Get Your Guide – simply choose the date you want to visit and your E-tickets will be sent directly to your mobile. We used Get Your Guide on our last visit and loved that we could skip the queue in favour of swanning straight into the park.
How to Get To Dubai Botanic Garden

The best way to visit is by booking a ticket with a hotel transfer. Otherwise, you’ll need to either take a bus or taxi/Uber to reach Dubai Miracle Garden. You can hop on bus 105 from the Mall of the Emirates bus station.
If you’re taking a taxi, make sure you have data on your mobile phone. The garden promises free wifi but we found it spotty and struggled to book an Uber back. For this, we always recommend Airalo e-sims as they are easy to install and keep you connected on the go.

Top Things to See at Dubai Miracle Garden

Whether you’re a lover of Disney, a keen green-fingered tourist, or just fancy checking out the Floating Lady sculpture (she’s rather magnificent, we must say), there’s something for everyone at this pretty Dubai attraction.
For us, the highlight is the extraordinary Emirates A380, a life-sized replica of the aircraft covered in over 500,000 fresh flowers and plants. This massive floral display has earned recognition from Guinness World Records as the largest flower structure in the world.

Disney Avenue features a giant floral Mickey Mouse, also a Guinness World Record holder, surrounded by other beloved Disney characters in colourful blooms, making it especially popular among families and children.
There’s also a butterfly garden tacked onto the side of the Dubai flower garden – we say tacked on, but this is actually one of the most impressive natural gardens we have ever visited. A fun mini golf course has also been added in recent years. It might seem totally indulgent (and it so is), but this 2 million-square-foot space really is a must-do activity in Dubai.
TRAVEL TIP ✈️
Dubai Miracle Garden is open to visitors between October and April each year – this floral spot shuts from May to September as the temperature soars to an average of 40 degrees.
What to Eat

Feeling peckish? From shawarma to pizza, your food options are plentiful at Dubai Miracle Garden. Though we say skip on pizza in Dubai – it’s always disappointing. We punted on a mixed slush on our last visit, and we have to say that it was delicious. Partially because it only cost us a fiver, which is something of an absolute bargain in Dubai.
You’ll find most of the food around the entrance, towards the centre of the garden, and near the edges by the Kelpies, though there are plenty of smaller stalls selling ice cream and light refreshments flitting around the garden. Keep your eyes peeled for a rather creepy genie who follows you around the outside with his eyes, too.
